Hello CICA Members,

The Christian Island Cottagers’ Association Board of Directors looks forward to seeing you at our Annual General Meeting. The AGM will be held via Zoom on Sunday, April 21, 2024, from 1:30-3:30 p.m. A Zoom link will be sent out with the agenda to all CICA members closer to the date. 

While there will be no required fee for membership in CICA for 2024-2025, this year we suggest that members opt to “pay what you can” ($25-125) to support events, and help with the maintenance of the Islander Online website. These optional fees can be paid to: info@islanderonline.ca or mailed to CICA c/o Treasurer Ines Colabrese, 226 Geoffrey St., Toronto ON M6R 1P8. 

Please join us and /help us plan events to connect with other cottagers and members of the Beausoleil First Nation. All members who join prior to the meeting and are accepted in good standing will be able to vote (one vote per lease), and with the agreement of the Board run for a Director position, at the AGM.

One Director from Big Sand Bay has served three consecutive terms – thank you Jen MacLeod for your service! Therefore, per Article 11, candidates for a Director from Big Sand Bay will be sought. The criteria for holding a seat on the Board are:

1. you must be a member in good standing of the Association, and
2. you must be a named leaseholder.

If you are a Big Sand Bay cottager and wish to put your name forward for nomination to the CICA Board or wish to nominate someone you feel would be a good representative, please complete and send in the Nomination Form by Friday, April 5, 2024 at 5:00 p.m., per Article 17, so that we can add the information to the meeting package. Nominations will also be accepted prior to the meeting and from the floor during the meeting. Please note the Board meets at least 6 times per year by conference call and once in person on the island.
