Remembering John Wingrove
John Wingrove passed peacefully at Spencer House in Orillia on Tuesday December 5, 2023. Beloved Husband of the late Betty (2017). Loving Dad of Karen, Andrew (Anne Marie), Jennifer (Kevin), and daughter-in-law Melissa. Beloved Papa of Stewart, Jonathan, Jacquelyn, Michael, Steven, Jacob and great-grandpa of Shyanne and Olivia. Predeceased by his son John and daughter-in-law Nancey.From son Andrew:
“My parents were long time cottagers on the Island (from 1960) and without a doubt Christian Island was their favorite place on this planet!
“The friendships that came from Christian Island lasted a lifetime! The First Nations people will for be in his heart as he had such love and respect for everyone there.”
Special thanks to the staff at Spencer House, Sundial Retirement Home and his many friends and family from Burford to Christian Island and beyond. John had an adventurous spirit and loved spending time with his family and many friends. His positivity will live on in all of us.
